Gilda Acosta has been a board member since 2007. She has worked at St. Francis Medical Center since 1991, where she has served as Community Outreach Coordinator and St. Francis Medical Clinic Manager. She now the Director of Healthy Community Initiatives. She administers SFMC’s Mobile Health Unit Program, as well as coordinating and assisting with free health screenings, free immunizations to school age children at local health fairs, churches, schools and local organizations. A recognized community leader, Gilda holds positions as President Adviser-President for the Huntington Park Chamber of Commerce, Immediate Past President for Lynwood Chamber of Commerce. President Adviser, Past President for the Maywood Chamber of Commerce, past Vice -President for the Kiwanis of Huntington Park, among others. She is also a member of the Compton Family Health Collaborative and the Compton Task Force committee. Gilda sits on councils and committees for the Children’s Planning Council Spa 7, American Cancer Society and Immunization LA council. The National Health Foundation nominated Gilda as “Hospital Hero” for St. Francis Medical Center.
