CAROLYN WEBB DE MACÍAS   1965

Carolyn has served as chair of the board of the Community Coalition since February 2017. She concurrently serves as chair of the board of the Partnership for Los Angeles Schools. These two organizations represent the areas of Carolyn’s primary interest: education and social justice and equity. Carolyn has spent a successful professional career in the public, private and education sectors. She has served on numerous nonprofit boards and holds the lifetime title of Vice President Emerita from the University of Southern California. She earned her B.A. degree from UCLA and an M.A. in Education from UCLA as a Danforth Foundation Fellow. She holds a California Standard Teaching Credential, California College Instructor’s Credential and a Montessori Teacher Certificate in Primary Grades and Administration. The California native is married to Reynaldo F. Macías, a professor of Chicano(a) Studies, Education and Socio-Linguistics at UCLA and is the mother of three adult sons.
