Janis is an original director of the CHSAA, and is the 2nd Vice President, The Historian, Chairperson of Board Development and Inventory Clerk. She served on the Class of 1975 reunion committee’s 20 year committee as a member, and on the 30 -year committee as facilitator, assistant treasurer and Web page designer. Facilitator of the 50th Birthday Party for the class of 1975. Janis has been a hostess for the Classes of 1973 and 1974 reunion and events. Janis has a great love for her school and community. She believes and is committed to the CHSAA and its mission. She believes in paying it forward. Helping others less fortunate. She truly believes children are our future. She believes in Community. A member of West Almond Street Block Club for many years. Janis is a Longshoreman with I.L.U.W. (International Longshoremen’s Warehouse Union) Local 63 covering Los Angeles/Long Beach Harbor. Janis was a member of I.L.W.U. Local 13 before advancement to I.L.W.U. Local 63. Her motto is “I am blessed; I woke up this morning, so after that everything else is icing on the cake.
